Physical AI startup Lyte announced it has raised $165 million in Series C funding at a $1.6 billion post-money valuation. The round was led by Maverick Silicon, with participation from Fidelity Management And Research Co., Atreides Management, Key1 Capital, Ora Global, and others. The Sunnyvale-based company, founded in 2021 by former Apple engineers, has now raised $272 million in total funding.

Lyte develops custom silicon, 4D sensing, RGB, motion awareness, and AI software to help robots navigate and perceive their surroundings in real time. The company is initially focusing on customers in the warehousing and manufacturing industries. Maverick Silicon managing partner Andrew Homan joined Lyte’s board of directors as part of the financing.

The investment highlights growing venture capital momentum in physical AI, which reached $47.4 billion across 521 global deals in the first half of 2026, according to Crunchbase data. Lyte plans to establish its technology as a foundational perception layer for autonomous robotic systems.

Why it matters

  • Robotics founders gain a specialized perception stack integrating custom silicon and 4D sensing to tackle real-time spatial awareness.

  • Investors are aggressively funding physical AI platforms, with global sector deal volume expanding nearly 4x year-over-year in early 2026.
