At New York Climate Week, NVIDIA highlighted five clean energy companies leveraging its compute platform and software to resolve infrastructure bottlenecks and accelerate low-carbon grid adoption. The showcase highlighted AI deployments designed to compress research timelines, optimize grid stability, and lower operational overhead for power generation and storage projects.

Among the featured startups, ThinkLabs AI uses the NVIDIA CUDA platform to run risk-informed probability grid simulations, enabling Southern California Edison to reduce grid interconnection evaluation times from 30–45 days down to two minutes. Atomic Canyon leverages accelerated compute for its Neutron knowledge workbench and NIVA virtual assistant to streamline nuclear power plant operations and regulatory compliance. Meanwhile, Redwood Materials is building off-grid energy storage using recycled EV batteries paired with an AI layer on the NVIDIA Blackwell platform to deliver rapid power capacity for data centers.

Why it matters

  • Grid evaluation tools dramatically reduce site onboarding friction for major energy and data center installations.

  • Onsite AI-managed battery storage offers an alternative path to bypass traditional electrical grid bottlenecks.

  • NVIDIA’s specialized domain frameworks continue to lock in early-stage infrastructure and energy startups.
